Transfer Citi ThankYou Points to American Airlines and Partners (Limited Time Offer)

The good news for American Airlines’ frequent flyers and Citi ThankYou Points fans: Citibank has added American Airlines as a new transfer partner for its ThankYou Rewards program.
Transferred ThankYou Points can be used to secure flights, flight upgrades, vacation packages, hotel stays, car rentals and more through the American Airlines AAdvantage program.
Although this is a limited time offer, running from July 18 to November 13, 2021, this is a unique opportunity for Citi Prestige Card, Citi Premier Card, Citi Preferred and Citi Rewards Card holders hoping to maximize their earnings.
The ratio for point transfer is 1:1 for Prestige and Premier cardholders, while 2:1 for Preferred and Rewards+ cardholders. You have to transfer in 1,000-point increments, but there’s no cap to the number of points you can transfer. Keep in mind, if you have multiple ThankYou cards, you can consolidate them into the account that gives you the best return.
American Airlines miles can be easily redeemed through American Airlines website for both domestic and international flights. AAdvantage miles can be used to book tickets on American Airlines and a variety of their OneWorld partners, including British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Alaska Airlines and more.
Citi makes it easy to earn ThankYou points by offering a wide range of ThankYou Point earning credit cards. If you are currently looking for a credit card offering flexible cash-back options and travel rewards, now’s the time to pay close attention to the Citi Premier Card that comes with breaking 80,000 ThankYou points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening. Also, the Citi Premier Card earns 3X ThankYou points per dollar spent on hotels, air travel, restaurants, gas stations or at supermarkets and 1 point on all other spending.
Accordingly, the addition of American Airlines as a travel partner undoubtedly makes Citi ThankYou Points more valuable for anyone holding or thinking about applying for a Citi ThankYou Points earning credit card.
