American Express Enlarges Their Network Coverage Through Tech Firms, Supported by i2c
An alliance between American Express and i2c is now focused on offering payment products in the American Express network through fintech companies.
Amex announced its collaboration with payment and banking technology company i2c in April this year. The two partnered to create a platform that allows fintechs and financial institutions to launch cards more quickly on Amex’s global payments network and offer the benefits that Amex offers. Turning to that new tool, digital asset company Abra launched the first crypto rewards credit card on Amex’s network in June.
Integrating WebBank into the American Express ecosystem is another step toward empowering fintechs to offer payment innovations on the Amex network.
WebBank recently announced an agreement with American Express to become a card issuer and participant in the American Express network. The collaboration allows WebBank to issue credit card and payment solutions that include American Express benefits such as Amex Offers, the Resy dining program, and exclusive access to ticket pre-sales.
WebBank plans to begin issuing Amex cards through fintechs later this year.
The appeal of the American Express brand and benefits makes this collaboration a perfect fit for the financial innovators and end-users alike, matching the spirit and demand of today’s payment landscape.
