Amazon Prime Members Will Save 5% At Whole Foods With Rewards Visa Card
If you’re a frequent Whole Foods shopper and an Amazon Prime member, there’s now another reason to apply for an Amazon Rewards Visa Card, if you don’t yet have one. Following the acquisition of Whole Foods by the retail giant, Amazon is offering Prime members who have an Amazon Rewards Visa Card 5% off all Whole Food Market purchases.
Amazon Rewards Visa card members already get 5% back on all Amazon.com purchases, as well as 2% back at restaurants, drugstores, and gas stations. Cardholders also get 1% back on all other purchases.
Whole Foods offers a wide range of organic fruits and vegetables, sustainably caught wild and responsibly farmed seafood, and humanely raised meat. Amazon bought the popular grocery chain in August 2017, for $13.7 billion.
Benefits of the Amazon Rewards Visa Card
Folks who have an Amazon Rewards Visa Card but who are not Amazon Prime members will earn 3% back on Whole Foods purchases, as well as the 3% back they already get on Amazon.com purchases. They also get 2% back at restaurants, drugstores, and gas stations, and 1% back everywhere else. There is no cap on rewards that can be earned, and rewards never expire as long as a cardmember’s account is open. Rewards can be redeemed on products at Amazon.com.
In addition to those rewards, benefits of the card include no foreign transaction fees when traveling outside the United States, no annual fee, zero fraud liability, travel and purchase protection, and 24/7 concierge service via Visa Signature.
Leslie Gillin, president at Chase Co-Brand cards, said there has been “incredible excitement and adoption” around the Amazon Rewards Visa credit card program. “[We] are thrilled to partner with Amazon and Whole Foods Market to bring even more rewards to our joint cardmembers,” said Gillin.
Cash back credit cards offer big rewards
For those who are not interested in the Amazon Rewards Visa card, there are many other cash back credit cards that offer up to 5% back on purchases, including purchases made at grocery stores and online retailers. Cards that offer rotating rewards programs give 5% back in different merchant categories that change every quarter – though rewards are almost always capped.
Anyone who is interested in earning cash back through a credit card rewards program can benefit from looking for a card that’s right for their needs.
