I am in the market for a big screen television and I was thinking of financing one with the Target REDcard. They have a pretty good sale and a 5% discount. Do they offer special financing?

They do not offer special financing, but you would want to avoid that anyway. Cards that work on a premise of special financing usually have deferred interest. So if you had six months to pay for a purchase this is only interest free if you pay the whole amount within the six-month timeframe. If not, you will be charged interest back to the original date of purchase. So always avoid special financing. Store cards have notoriously high interest rates so financing any items with them is generally not worth the initial discount. A card you already have that has a decent APR would be a better choice. Ideally you could apply for a card with a 0% promotional APR on purchases. This way when the introductory period is over you will not get hit with exorbitant amounts of back interest.
