I have bad credit and a friend of mine told me I should try applying for a store card. I do not have a Kmart near me, but I shop a lot at Kmart online. Do you think they would approve me for their credit card?

No, if you have bad credit it is unlikely that you would be approved for any store card. However, there are many cards that cater to your type of credit. If you have bad credit it is important to only apply for a card that you will definitely get. Applying for a card you do not meet the criteria for will actually further harm you credit. When you apply for a score card they will likely do a hard pull on your credit record which will bring your score down even further. It is just not worth it if you will not ultimately get the card. Apply for a card that will help you improve your credit first.
