How does First Progress credit card work?

The First Progress Bank generally issues secured cards, i.e. cards specifically for building credit. They all work pretty much the same. A secured card is a real credit card that relies on a customer deposit rather than on credit history. That makes it ideal for people with limited or no credit. You pay a security deposit that is usually equal to the credit line you get. Other than that secured cards work like any other credit cards. You charge a card and get a balance. You may revolve a balance by paying only the minimum monthly payment, or avoid finance charges by paying the balance in full each month. If you carry a balance, you may face paying the interest payments. If you fail to make any payment by the due date, you may face the laten fee. If you pay off your balance each month diligently, your credit score is likely to increase, and you may get an unsecured card and continue building your credit.
