Amex Releases a New Small-Business Credit Card with a 2% Cash Back

American Express has recently announced their new no annual fee credit card for small businesses – the Blue Business CashTM Card. But should small business owners pay attention to it? Amex states that the Blue Business Cash cardholders can enjoy generous cashback rewards together with worthwhile multiple perks. Let’s find out how matters stand in fact.
Interests and Fees
In addition to the $0 annual fee, the card offers 12 months of 0% intro APR not only for purchases but also for balance transfers requested within 60 days of account opening. After that, a variable 15.49%-21.49% APR based on your creditworthiness will apply.
Rewards Program
The Blue Business card comes with a 2% cash back. You can earn it on all eligible purchases on up to $50,000 per calendar year. 1% will follow when the limit is reached. However, unfortunately, the earned rewards can be redeemed only for a statement credit that is automatically credited to your account.
One more nice feature accompanying the card is the ability to expand your credit spending limit and get cash back on those purchases too. It is even more pleasing that you don’t have to notify the bank beforehand and to pay any fees for that. But be sure to find out how much you are allowed to spend over the limit since it is determined by the issuer individually.
Another way to get extra rewards is to add Employee Card Members to your card. Employee Cards are free, come with $0 annual fee and allow you to set up spending limits and approve categories for purchases to always stay in the know.
Perks and Benefits
Besides the rewards program and the mentioned above options, the new Amex business card gives you access to a variety of attractive travel and purchase perks. Here are some of them:
- Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance that will give you lost or damaged rental car coverage for the first 30 days.
- Global Assist® Hotline that will provide you with 24/7 access to medical, legal, financial or other select emergency coordination and assistance services when you travel more than 100 miles from home.
- Extended Warranty that will add one additional year to warranties of up to 5 years.
- Purchase Protection that will secure your purchases from accidental damage or theft for up to 90 days.
- Spend ManagerSM that will let you control your expenses by allowing you to add receipts and notes to your transactions.
Bottom Line
After reviewing the main Blue Business CashTM Card features, it may be considered as rather profitable. It can become a good choice for owners of small businesses. All in all, it must be noted that the card offers quite a competitive combination of $0 annual fee, 0% intro APR, good cashback bonus rate and catching benefits. The card was launched in the middle of July and now is available for applying.
