The newly introduced Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Credit Card is now available and offers standout travel rewards
As summer approaches, Wells Fargo introduced a new travel credit card with great cashback rates across several categories to compete with big travel rewards players like Chase, Amex and Citi. The card is supposed to be a higher-tier version of the existing Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card launched in 2022.
The new Wells Fargo Autograph Journey℠ Card is best suited for people who spend most on travel, particularly hotel stays and flights. The card offers an unlimited 5 points per $1 on hotels, 4 points per $1 on airfare, 3 points per $1 on other travel and dining and 1 point per $1 on all other qualifying purchases.
New cardholders will also earn 60,000 bonus rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months.
Points are worth 1 cent each and can be redeemed for a statement credit against travel charges through the Wells Fargo Rewards travel portal, shopping via PayPal and for third-party gift cards. Additionally, the card issuer allows you to transfer your points to select partners. The initial list is sparse, but Wells Fargo says that more partners will be added over the year.

- Air France-KLM Flying Blue
- Avianca Lifemiles
- British Airways Executive Club
- Aer Lingus AerClub
- Iberia Plus
Hotel Partners:
For most partners, transfers are made at a 1:1 ratio, except for the Choice Privileges Rewards, where one Wells Fargo point will be worth two Choice Privileges Rewards points. Citi is the only other issuer that offers Choice Privileges points at that 1:2 ratio with their Citi Strata Premier® Card.
The Autograph Journey’s $95 annual fee is reasonable for a travel rewards card and can be partially offset by a $50 annual statement credit for airline purchases (minimum $50 purchase required).
Additionally, travelers will benefit from travel protections such as trip cancellation and interruption insurance, cellphone protection, lost baggage reimbursement and secondary auto rental collision damage waiver.
