I would like to fill out a Big Lots credit card application, but I don't know if I qualify for the card. Can you give me an idea of what they are looking for? Will they be running a background check on me?

If you've never applied for a credit card, it's understandable that you might be nervous about the process. But don't worry. It's really very straightforward. You'll want to gather up your personal information in order to fill out the application – things like your home address and mailing address, your social security number, your annual income, your phone number, your date of birth, and your preferred contact information. You might also need to list the other members of your household, such as a spouse. But this is not for a background check, exactly. They will run a credit check to see what your credit score is, and whether your credit is good enough to qualify for the card. For this type of card, the requirements aren't usually very stringent, so you have a good chance of being approved.
