I had a First Premier bank card and I paid off the balance on it, however now I am trying to apply for a credit card but when I did I was denied because they could not find my credit history. I am not sure what's going on, I thought I just had Bad credit. I did not think I have no credit history. I mean I had a credit card before and your cell phone bill has a reflection on your credit (so I've heard) what gives?

Make a request of your credit report at annualcreditreport.com to see what your current credit score is. Also, check your credit report for inaccuracies. If there are any, try to dispute them with your credit issuer or a credit bureau. Wait until all changes will be reflected in your credit report and only then apply for a credit card according to your credit score. If your credit score is still bad, consider a secured credit card. Applying for this credit card you have more chances to get approved because the card requires collateral.
