A new credit card made especially for small business owners gives Amazon Prime members extra cash back on purchases, as well as the ability to choose flexible payment terms in lieu of rewards.

The Amazon Business American Express card has many features to recommend it, including no annual fee, cash back at restaurants and gas stations, and special member benefits at Whole Foods Market and Amazon.com. If you get the card, you’ll want to be sure to sign up for Amazon Prime, as many of the card’s benefits are linked to Prime membership.

Innovating on behalf of small businesses

Samant Nagpal, global head of Amazon business payment products, said the company cares deeply about small businesses. “Small businesses are integral to our DNA, and we continue to innovate on their behalf.” Nagpal said the partnership with American Express “empowers small businesses to make flexible choices, streamline everyday buying decisions, and have increased visibility into their business purchases.”

American Express also wishes to make life easier for small businesses, primarily by offering credit products with a low APR and plenty of rewards. “We know our small business customers want the ability to choose a payment tool that works best for their business at any given moment,” said Courtney Kelso, head of U.S. commercial card solutions at Amex. “We’re proud to have developed the Amazon Business American Express card as a powerful business buying tool, backed by the world-class service, security and buying power of American Express.”

Benefits of business credit cards

When they sign up for the card, Amazon Prime members will receive a $125 Amazon.com gift card. All other cardholders will receive a $100 Amazon gift card. And for a limited time, Amazon Business American Express Card Members can also receive a free year of the Amazon Business Prime Essentials plan, which normally costs $179 per year.

Business credit cards offer many benefits for entrepreneurs and small business owners, including low interest rates, spending insights and reports, additional cards for employees, and rewards on the things they purchase most often. There are many different business credit cards available for small business owners, each with their own benefits.
