How can I establish credit without using a prepaid or secured card? I want just a regular credit card. I have some credit..but it is very limited. I want a card with a small credit limit just to get started.

If you have limited or no credit history, and wish to establish credit, there are credit cards you can apply for without paying cash deposit. But keep in mind these credit cards may have setup or activation fees up to $95 though sometimes they can be paid over time. And be aware that interest rates might be higher than those of secured cards, as there is no security deposit as a guarantee. Credit cards for limited or no credit history may help establish your credit if you regularly make payments on time to all of your creditors and keep balances below credit limits. With the usual initial credit limit of $300 you need to be careful and use only a portion of it. To view offers for people with limited credit, visit Limited or No Credit Cards page of our site.
