My Bass Pro shop credit card has a lower limit than I was hoping. How can I get a card with a higher credit limit?

As a general rule, your credit limit is based on your creditworthiness; credit issuers look at your credit score in order to determine what credit limit to award you. In some cases, a particular card will not offer a high credit limit to anyone, no matter how high their credit. Store credit cards tend to be this way, with a limit to the amount of credit they award. If you’d like a credit card with a high limit, you should consider applying for a standard, unsecured credit card – not a store card. But first, check your credit report to see if your credit stands up to scrutiny. Having good credit will make a big difference in how much credit you’re given. The best way to achieve a high credit score is to always pay off your credit card balances in full, on time, every month.
