Credit card approval policies vary depending on the issuing financial institution. Among other things considered by the bank are your credit history and employment. Most of credit card companies rely on data they pull from credit bureaus. After you complete and submit your application, the issuing company sends a request to a credit reporting agency for your credit report, reviews your credit history, and makes the decision whether to approve you for a credit card or not. MasterCard does not issue cards directly; the decision will be made by the issuing bank.
