Quick Overview:

The SKYPASS Visa Signature® card from U.S. Bank is one of the family of SkyPass credit cards offered to U.S. consumers. The card is offered as an addition to the Korean Air’s SKYPASS loyalty program. This card is for people with established credit, meaning those with good or excellent credit are able to qualify for the card.

The SkyPass credit card is a mediocre airline credit card if compared with other airline cards. However, it can be good for those who often fly to South Korea and want to get rewarded for those flights. Even though the card lacks some travel perks, like priority boarding or free checked bag, it will help you to save on an international ticket. The card comes with a miles rewards program and also has a first-purchase sing-up bonus. The card’s annual fee is $80 – not one of the highest, but you will need good earning miles power to justify the fee.

Rewards Program Details:

The rewards program on the Korean Air credit card is not one of the best, but it has a sign-up bonus that stands out. When most airlines credit cards give a promo bonus after you spend a specific amount on purchases within a specified period of time, the SkyPass Visa credit card will give you 15,000 bonus miles after you use the card for your first purchase! There is another bonus of 2,000 miles that you will earn yearly on the account renewal. Korean Air ticket purchases will earn double miles, and all other purchases will earn 1 miles for every $1 you spend. Earned miles can be redeemed for reward travel and upgrades on Korean Air and SkyTeam partners.

If addition to miles rewards, the Korean Airlines credit card gives access to Visa Signature benefits, like premium offers and special dining privileges. Using the SkyPass Visa Rewards card and earning miles, you can qualify for the elite frequent flyer status - the Morning Calm Club.

The SkyPass Visa credit card does not look impressive with its narrow rewards program and high annual fee. However, those who fly Korean Airlines frequently will be able to earn miles which are enough to grab good deals because Korean Air allows to redeem miles for a one-way ticket. You can also take advantage of the SkyTeam partnership and use SkyPass miles for domestic flights or international vacation.
