If you are lucky to own one of the Discover cashback bonus credit cards i.e. the Discover it® Cash Back, the Discover it® Balance Transfer, the Discover it® Student Cash Back or the NHL® Discover it® credit card, you most probably know that May brings the beginning of activating the 3rd quarter 5% cashback bonus category. But are you hip to the latest news about the categories update?
If no, you will be thrilled to know that Discover has recently announced extra positions for the third and fourth quarters of 2019. Let’s see where else we can earn more. By the way, do not forget that the 5% cash back is available only after the activation on up to $1,500 per quarter. Once you reach the maximum, the 1% cash back will apply automatically.
New Discover 5% Cashback Bonus Categories
While the second quarter categories stay unaltered, the third quarter besides restaurants now includes PayPal. Purchases made through the PayPal wallet online, when you send money to Friends and Family via PayPal using your Discover Card, and point-of-sale transactions using PayPal Here will be taken into consideration.
The fourth quarter undergoes changes as well. Target and Wallmart.com join Amazon.com. Target purchases bringing 5% cash back include any purchases made online at Target.com, through the Target app, or in-store at Target. Walmart.com 5% bonus purchases include those made at Walmart.com and when shopping through the Walmart app (including Grocery Pick Up and Instore Pick Up). Purchases made in store at Walmart Stores, Walmart Supercenters, Neighborhood Markets and Walmart Pay are left out.
