At what rate do miles earned on a Discover travel card transfer to Aeroflot miles? Example: If Aeroflot bonus program requires 20000 points for a flight using points from their card, how many points would be required using Discover points? Do miles earned on an Aeroflot card expire? And what about Discover?
Updated on July 15, 2018
Miles earned on the Discover it® Miles card cannot be transferred to any frequent flyer program. You can redeem them for travel statement credits or cash deposited to your bank account. 1 mile earned on the Discover it® Miles card equals 1 penny. Thus, if an airline ticket costs $200, you will need 20,000 miles. The number of miles you need depends on the ticket price, other factors, like the destination or the time of the flight, are not important.
As for the Aeroflot miles, they won’t expire as long as you keep your account active (redeem or accrue miles). If your Mileage Plan account is inactive for 12 months, Aeroflot may close your account and delete any mileage balance. Miles you earn with Discover do not expire at all.
