You are totally right, SKYPASS credit cards fall short of most airline credit cards, not to mention general travel cards. They have almost nothing to entice you with compared to what good cards now offer. While airlines credit cards grant you with 2 miles for airline purchases, SKYPASS Visa Classic doesn’t give you even that. And the sign-up bonus of 5,000 miles is laughable by todays standards.

Most airlines are very protective of their miles and don’t allow you to redeem miles on non-partner airlines. Korean Air is a part of Skyteam, so you are free to redeem miles for flights of Skyteam members, but not other airlines. That includes Delta, Air France and China Airlines.
