If you like shopping at Sam’s, you may be temped to apply for their store credit card. However, before you fill out that application, think carefully about what you’re hoping to get out of the card. If you want to earn cash back, points, or travel rewards, you’re better off with another type of credit card. There are plenty of cards for people with all levels of credit, so whether you have an average or an excellent credit score, you can find a card that offers rewards on every purchase, at the warehouse store and at other places, as well. You want a card that you can use when you’re traveling, when you’re at home, and for everyday purchases. A card that’s branded to just one retailer can be limiting, and there’s no reason to have that card rather than one that will offer perks like no foreign transaction fees, a price guarantee that refunds the difference if your purchase goes on sale after you buy it, or earns you frequent flyer miles. Look around and you’re sure to find the perfect choice for you.
