I received a mastercard in the mail and did not activate. I no longer have the card. Can I get another card or do I have to reapply? I already had one in my name with credit limit available. |
|
Answer:
If you applied for a MasterCard offer, get approved, received the plastic and then throw it away, you need to call the bank that issued that card. Tell them about your situation. If you want to start using this plastic, they may reissue it (it depends on your financial situation and credit score). Or if you don't want to have this card, you may need to cancel your account. If your MasterCard was a pre-approved offer, there is nothing to worry about. There is a difference between "pre-approved" and "approved". If you responded, the creditor would access your report before actually decide whether to qualify you or not. Keep in mind that pre-approved offers are designed to catch your attention. For example, when an interest rate is promised to be "as low as" some amount, it is not a guarantee of that APR. If you want to get a new MasterCard, you can find a wide range of beneficial offers at our site. People with excellent score will like Platinum Prestige card from Capital One®. It has no annual fee, 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers and a low ongoing APR after that. If you have good credit, consider Citi® Platinum Select® Card® issued by Citibank. It comes with 0% APR on balance transfers and purchases for up to 12 months and no annual fee. You can also take advantage of free online services, including account management, statements, unbilled activity, and faster payments. Platinum card from Capital One® is a good choice for people with fair credit. It has a zero APR on purchases and a low ongoing interest rate. You can save up to 40% off featured deals and 10% on all other items at the Capital One Saving Zone. Reduce your expenses with Capital One® cards! |

I am looking for a card that does not charge a fee for cash advance in the form of checks, and provides a period interest free on the advance. For example, if I write a check against the card, there seems to be a 3% fee on the advance value pretty much everywhere. I am looking for no, or a nominal fee with cap on the advance, along with no interest for a certain duration such as one year. Any ideas here? Thanks. |
|
Answer:
We don't recommend using credit cards for cash advances. This option should be reserved for emergency use only. Otherwise, you simply waste your money for fees and interest charges. If you are looking for the most beneficial terms on cash advances, we can offer you Virgin Atlantic American Express® card - Black from Bank of America. It offers a zero interest rate for the first 6 billing cycles on cash advance checks, purchases and balance transfers. In addition, you can take advantage from no annual fee and excellent travel rewards! However, this offer comes with a cash advance fee - 3%. Clear from American Express® is a good choice for people who want to avoid cash advance fees. It also features no annual fee, no late fee, no overlimit fee and no balance transfer fee. Beneficial cash back rewards program will let you increase your budget. The cash advance APR is 19.99%. All other credit cards, for example Citi® Platinum Select® Card®, come with APR at or above 20% along with a cash advance fee which is typically 3% for each transaction. |

My google search keeps bringing me to your website for a 4.99% life of loan balance transfer card.
Where is it? |
|
Answer:
During the previous four years, American Express® provided a 4.99% fixed APR on balance transfers for the life of your transferred amount with its Blue and Blue Cash® cards, and a 5.99% fixed APR on balance transfers with its Clear card. However, the bank has changed the terms and conditions of these offers. On September 19th, American Express has reduced the introductory period of its fixed interest rates on balance transfers from life to 1 year. At the present moment Blue and Blue Cash® from American Express® come with a 2.99% fixed APR on balance transfers for the first 12 months and 3% balance transfer fee (maximum $99). You will also enjoy 0% APR on purchases for up to 12 months and no annual fee. Clear from American Express® has a 3.99% fixed APR on balance transfers for the first 12 months, 0% introductory APR on purchases for up to 12 months, no annual fee and no balance transfer fee. |

|
Answer:
No, you can't. According to the bank's Agreement, you agree to the following: 1. You have the authority to legally bind the Business. 2. The account will be used solely for business purposes and not for personal, family or household purposes. 3. Everything you have stated in the Application is true. 4. Advanta may verify any information provided in connection with the request for credit. In accordance with applicable law and the terms of your card Agreement, the bank may change any of your account terms, including rates and fees, at any time for any reason. So if the bank finds out that you don't have a business, they may cancel your account or shift you to a high default rate. How much can you transfer for the discover card offer |
|
Answer:
We can't answer this question. The credit limit is set by lenders according to your FICO score, payment pattern, total amount of debt, income and other criteria. Typically, Discover credit cards for good to excellent score have up to $50.000 spending limit. However, nowadays all financial institutions tend to lower credit limits in order to reduce their lending risks. That's why people need to lower their expectations on how much they can transfer. If you have a debt of $20.000, you may be able to transfer only a part of your balance to a new plastic, for example $7.000 - $15.000. Consider it as the first step to your debt-free future! |

How can you apply for a business card and you do not have a business? Is this legal? |
|
Answer:
No, in this case you can't apply for a business credit card. All banks don't allow using business credit cards for personal purposes. According to Advanta credit card agreement, your account must used solely for business purposes and not for personal, family or household purposes. CitiBank states that you must be an authorized officer of the business (for example general manager, general partner, owner, president/chairperson, treasurer, vice president) to submit a business credit card application. With Capital One application, you agree that all business cards and convenience checks will be used solely for business or commercial purposes and not for personal, family or household purposes. As for Discover, its business credit cards also must be used for business purposes. When you submit your application, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions of the credit card agreement. A bank may verify any information you provided in connection with the request for credit. At our site you can find a wide range of consumer credit offers. They come with varied packages of features and rewards. Whether you are looking to improve your credit or earn substantial rewards, you can always find a plastic that matches your needs. Our site makes it easy to compare various credit offers and submit your application online! |

I have 3 major credit cards (Capital One, Chase, and Discover). I believe my credit standing is relatively good (I make all my payments and have only been late a couple times over 5 years). The cards I have, however, are close to their limits. Would it hurt my credit score to apply for another major credit card? |
|
Answer:
No, it will not hurt your credit rating. Vice versa, it can improve your FICO score. Credit bureaus take into consideration your credit utilization ratio - the percentage between your balances and your total available credit. If you have a debt, you need to keep it less than 30% of your available credit. The lower the ratio, the better. If you are close to your spending limit, it means that your utilization ratio is nearly 100%. That is not good for your FICO score: it will drop. And vice versa, if the amount of your available credit increases, the utilization ratio will become lower. It will have a positive effect on your FICO score. Don't forget to check your FICO score before you apply for a credit card. You need to choose an appropriate offer. If you have good credit, consider Citi® Platinum Select® Card® issued by Citibank. It comes with a 0% APR on balance transfers and purchases, a beneficial rewards program and no annual fee. People with fair credit will like Capital One offers, for example Platinum or Platinum Visa from Capital One®. You will enjoy a zero introductory rate on purchases and a low rate APR afterwards. |

I do not use a credit card that often, but I am going to need one for purchasing certain things occasionally in the future. However, I am always concerned of theft. Can I get a card that I can set the limit on the amount the card carries (ex.$300) or do you have a card that would not hold me responsible for purchases made in case identity or credit card/ number theft?
If you have one of these cards, what would be the annual fee? As I stated, I don't use a credit card that often and I don't want to pay a large annual fee for something I do not use that much. Thanks.

i'm looking for the best credit card for me but i'm not sure if i have good, bad or fair credit or if i even have credit so how can i find the best card for me without that information? |
|
Answer:
It's not recommended to apply for a credit card if you don't know you credit score. Your application will be denied if you are not eligible for the offer. It means that people with fair score shouldn't apply for excellent credit cards and people with excellent score shouldn't apply for fair credit cards - they may not qualify. Plus, numerous credit inquiries will lower your FICO score. Contact the three major credit bureaus (or at least one of them) and find out your FICO score. If you have 750-850 points, it means that you have excellent credit. You can look for suitable offers in our "Best Offers to Get" section. People with 660-749 points are eligible for good credit cards. Pay attention to Citi® Diamond Preferred® Card issued by Citibank. It has a 0% APR on balance transfers and purchases, a low ongoing APR, and no annual fee. If you have 620-659 points, you have fair credit. Consider a wide selection of Capital One offers. They will help you improve your score if your make timely payments and keep your balances low. Platinum card from Capital One® has a low annual fee and zero interest rates. If you score is less than 619 points, you can apply for Orchard Bank Classic MasterCard®. It has very good terms - zero introductory rates on balance transfers and purchases and competitive ongoing APR. Email and text messages will remind you of your upcoming payment due date. |
